Router Case Files Preview Edition
We recently tested a new short-run printer (the same one we're using for Overrun and the expanded Eclipse Phase Second Edition Character Pack!) and we have copies of Router Case Files from those test runs available. When these copies are gone, they're gone — Router Case Files will reappear in print as part of the Eclipse Phase Second Edition Gamemaster's Screen later in 2020.
These copies of Router Case Files vary slightly in paper weight, cover weight, and cover coating: you will get a random book from the pile! Some of them are lower-quality than we would normally sell (which is why we did a bunch of test prints!), and some we intentionally damaged to test their robustness!
Whether you're running Eclipse Phase for the first time or a veteran gamemaster, Router Case Files is your resource for fast plot hooks tailored to this intricate universe. Covering the three core campaign types—Firewall, gatecrashing, and Guanxi criminals—then spanning the solar system to deal with hypercorps, uplifts, media, politics, and more!
Router Case Files does not contain any game mechanics and can be used with any edition of Eclipse Phase.
How to Use this Book
The following pages provide a selection of plot hooks for gamemasters (GMs) to run with. These ideas are short and provide the bare-bones outline for a scenario. Some provide specific details, like the names of hypercorps and non-player characters (NPCs), or a recommended setting (i.e., Elysium on Mars), while others are more generic, leaving those details to be filled in. We often include several possibilities for the GM to choose from, to best fit your campaign and keep the players on their toes in case they read this too! Most of these hooks are meant to be run over the course of a session or three, but they could certainly be stretched out for more sessions if needed.
We’ve organized these plot hooks into rough categories; each two-page spread covering a different topic. The first three focus on specific campaign types: Firewall, gatecrashing, or Guanxi criminals. The next two spreads cover the inner and outer halves of the Solar System, respectively. The remaining spreads relate to different focus areas: hypercorps, mercurials, the mesh and media, politics, transhumanity, and weirder things.
On top of that, we list a set of keyword tags with each hook that indicate what other topics, groups, and places that scenario idea might relate to. This provides an easy way of scanning them for specific subjects. Need an adventure idea that involves Venus, forking, or exsurgents? Scan the tags to see which ones might work. We’ve included an index of the tags at the very back, so you can see a full list of the hooks for each subject.
As always, any given details can and should be changed by the GM as you see fit. Take these ideas and run with them!
Pre-Order: Xenovore will go to the printer in early December 2020, and we anticipate shipping it to you in early January 2021. Pre-orders will get the PDF version for free on Wednesday, December 2nd.
When do you ship orders?
For any title in the Books category, including Eclipse Phase Second Edition, those books ship from one of our fulfillment partners, the legendary Atlas Games. They ship titles out almost every weekday.
Other merchandise, including pre-orders, ships from our home office, and we try to ship things out once or twice a week depending on order volume.
What is Posthuman Recommended shipping?
Posthuman Recommended shipping for books for non-USA orders uses a Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) service. By using DDP, we assume the liability for any import duties that you may normally have to pay!
Your books will be shipped from the Atlas warehouse to a shipping company in your region, and then will be handed to that company for the "Final Mile" to your door. You'll get tracking information for both legs of your new book's journey to you!
DDP is not as fast as a courier service, but is much less expensive, and still takes things across the globe in under ten days, typically.
We understand that shipping (particularly internationally) is expensive. Amazon and other major retailers get huge reductions on their shipping rates due to the volume of orders they place. We aren't able to match those rates, and we appreciate you supporting us directly.
